ADRIATIC SKIPPER ASSOCIATION
Adriatic Skipper Association (ASA) is a non-profit organization,
founded in year 2001, with headquarters stated in Rijeka. During 4
years of work, ASA has successfully delivered guides for further development
and enlargement of our members' services quality on the Adriatic.
At the same time, making group of partners who can provide all sorts
of products and services interesting to nautical marketing has been
ulmost payable.
During season 2005, Association was counting 60 members, mostly skippers
on Adriatic, but also a smaller number but not less relevant of volunteers
who participate in our seasonal projects.
ASA provides to all its members support in education, legal aid, legitimate
work and promotion.
Members of ASA are also sailors and hostesses with experience on larger
vessels, big yachts and Mediterranean gullets as well.
Their attendance on vessel greatly enlarges safety and commodity of
guests.
All ASAs' activities relate to creating recognizable brand “Croatian
skipper”.
“Croatian skipper” is a person whose knowledge and skills
are tested and categorized by standards of vocation.
“Croatian skipper” is professional and educated person
whose prior notion is safe navigation and sojourn of crew on sail.
On the other hand, “Croatian skipper” will present a tourist
guide, adviser and have all sorts of other roles and duties as well,
in order to provide undisturbed pleasure in natural and cultural beauties
of Adriatic to his guests.
Skippers, linked to the project «Exclusive sailing»,
will also become promoters of the Adriatic gastronomy offering. Hence,
skipper has active task to, in assistance with hostess, think out,
prepare and serve dishes for meals that guests had decided to eat
on sailboat. Skippers task is, hence, to present and illustrate specifics
of gastronomy offerings of particular location, island or region in
certain restaurant that guest has decided to eat during his arrangement.
It should be emphasized that non-related weather guests are on vacation
with their families, children, business partners or friends, our skippers
and hostesses have experience with all mentioned crews and they can
provide in any occasion pleasant sojourn on holidays.
Because our skippers' experience, proficiency, knowledge and ability
varies, guest can find on ASAs' homepage www.usj.hr, before arriving
to Croatia, in database of skipper all needed information regarding
language knowledge description of “his” skipper, type
and length of sailboat that “his” skipper has been sailing
on, if “his” skipper has Mediterranean, Atlantic or merely
Adriatic experience, and list of special abilities such as diving,
sport-diving, regatta sailing, etc. Based on all supplied information
guest can easily chose the most suitable skipper, “his”
skipper. ASA is going to additionally educate and prepare all members
for this unique project.
